Tired of Winter

I am so tired of the cold. After another big snow storm here in Chicago, I feel like I am in this Amy Bennett painting. I wish I was in this Lori Nix photograph instead.

Some Photographs I Have Been Thinking About

Visiting and observing national parks is an interesting ritual...especially through the lens of a camera.

Mark Klett and Byron Wolfe for the Third View Project, 2000. Crested Hot Springs and the Castle Geyser, Yellowstone National Park, Wyo.

**update: This photograph was sent to me by one of my professors this week. Viewing a National Park with a map from a balcony...hilarious or disturbing?

31 under 31

I just received some more great news from the folks over at the Humble Arts Foundation. My work has been selected for their upcoming exhibition "31 under 31: Young Women in Art Photography." This exhibition celebrates emerging female photographers...yeah for us!! What an exciting opportunity. Be sure to stop by 3rd Ward in Brooklyn throughout the month of March to see my piece and works by other awesome ladies.

**quick update - you can find a list of websites for nearly all of the artists in the show on Harlan Erskine's Blog.

Look out for Reka Reisinger, Tealia Ellis Ritter and Alejandra Laviada - three interesting artists who are participating in the show:
